                                                Love and Fear
                                                  Chapter 2
“Wanna go play baseball tonight?” she asked, clapping her hands. “There’s supposed to be a storm.”

“Supposed to? What do you mean supposed to?” Edward asked confused.

“Well… someone invited the wolves.” Edward looked down at me, I shrugged. I had told myself not to shed tears over Jacob, and that meant staying away from him; though he wouldn’t be there; he ran off after Edward sent out invitations to the wedding.

“Well… I guess they could come. As long as they play as humans, speed is an exception, but no dogs!” He raised his voice at the last part; about no dogs.

Later that night, after calling Sam, to inform the others, it started to rain. We had to call and cancel, we could hear the others; mainly Paul, groaning in disappointment in the background. Because the pack was involved, Alice didn’t see the rain; she went by the news. So there I was, stuck inside the Cullen house, with nothing to do.

Alice played with my hair awhile, I tried not to say anything for fear I might prolong the torture. After re-teaching me how to take care of my hair, we walked back downstairs.

Jasper was sitting on the big, white couch, looking at his knees. Edward was leaning against the wall, by the door. Carlisle and Esme had ran off hours ago, Emmett was sitting on the other side of the other side of the couch, with Rosalie in his lap.

I blinked, when I opened my eyes, Edward was in front of me. I jumped a little and Edward overreacted. He slowly backed away saying,"I'm sorry love."

Before he backed to far away, I jumped into his arms, hugging him. After waiting a few seconds to get him used to my smell----- and for him to realize I wasn't frightened by him, he was just a bit fast,----- I kissed him,
like I did earlier today. And like before, he kissed me with a lot of compassion.

He picked me up, and carried me to the middle of the couch and sat down. The fact that I was still in his lap told me he wasn't hungry, but in a cuddling mood, so I curled up against his chest, he kissed my lips, then my forehead, then came to rest in my hair.

We sat like this for so long, I lost track of time, at least an hour. But suddenly he asked, "do you want to go upstairs?" I saw Jasper snap his head towards us and smiled at Edward from the corner of my eye. Jasper was smiling; was it at something Edward said, or something he felt?

I started to say 'sure,' but before I was finished, we were outside Edward's bedroom door. "Well, what is this all about?" I asked completely surprised.
He opened the door and walked inside before answering." I'm just eager," he stated, still smiling. He put me down and closed the door," eager about what?" I asked.

He was standing in front of me now, smiling hugely, though his eyes were nervous." Eager about this," he said.
